November 12, 2020

MEDICAID FRAUD

Florida’s Attorney General Ashley Moody announced arrests for defrauding a Medicaid program out of more than $15,000. The arrested citizens were Pasco County residents.

The alleged Medicaid fraud was done by falsifying documents for services not rendered. The arrests were possible thanks to the assistance of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

OPIOID CRISIS

Mississippi’s Attorney General Lynn Fitch wrote an opinion editorial on the opioids crisis, calling it a “non-partisan, equal opportunity offender“. She also announced that the state of Mississippi has partnered with the DEA for “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” in order to raise awareness about the opioid crisis in Mississippi.
